Hair Highlights at home, I need some input?

I bought one of those Loreal highlight kits and I did the allover color last night which was a light ash brown and the highlights will be light blonde. I want to try and do something unique this time instead of just ';painting'; on stripes. My hair goes to just about the middle of my back and I don't like messing with the back of my head anyway. Do you think it would look ok if I just focus mainly on the front sections of my hair and just basically leave the back alone? The color usually seems to mix pretty well allover my head too. I was thinking maybe just some fat chunks but focusing on the front of portion of my hair whatever I do. Thanks for any advice =)Hair Highlights at home, I need some input?
i think it would be better to have chunky highlights all around. but if you do that, you'd definitely need someone else to apply the dye for you...or else it wont come out pretty
