Highlighting hair at home with foils

i'm having my mom high-light my hair with foils at home. my hair is dark blond now and i want to put lighter blond in it. except i don't know where i should have her section my hair so it looks natural and even all around when i where my hair up. can someone explain to me where these sections should be? when you do it at home i would suggest just getting a high-light kit, it has instructions about where to put the dye to make it look natural.
