Have you ever high lighted your hair urself?





i was thinking of doing it tomorow and getting a highlighting kit and doing it myself..i have brown hair and want light brown highlights





which kit did you use and was it easy?

in my opinion i think its the worst mistake someone can do


you should not give urself highlights its better if u go with aa proffesional itll come out nicer specially if your working with bleachHighlighting hair at home
a highlighting cap takes too long i would do brush on ones..like the excellance creme from loreal highlights look good...they are gentle on hair...the herbal essances ones look nice to just make sure you keep watching them while you do it to keep them from getting too light..i highlighted my hair once and the highlighting creme worked really fast so i rinsed 7 minutes sooner...if they look orange at first they fade to brown eventually

yeah i recently dyed my hair a lighter brown.


nd its easier dying then doing highlights.


if you dye yer hair you can get a kit that isnt a permanent color


for yer hair and will wash out after about 28 shampoos.


about 4 weeks.


and i used natural instincts.


just follow the directions and make shure you get it all over your hair.

Do not get the kind where you have to use a paint brush or do huge hunks of hair


I love the ones that come with a little plastic cap


you look silly while you do it but it always comes out great


you put on the cap and using a small plastic hook you pull out tiny strands of hair then you use the lightener on just the hair you pulled out and it looks like you went to an expensive salon.

Another way u can do it for free is to....I know it sounds wierd,... but u can put lemon wedges and squeeze the juice near the roots og your hair, sit in or play in the sun (ride your bike, walk, tan, BUT DO NOT SWIM!) and after a hour go and take a shower with not to hot water. For better and more vivid highlights, sit outside more than a hour.
it is quite simple to do but can i suggest you get a friend or your mum to do it for you so that you get an even finish.i cant remember the one i used but it was fine and my neighbour used to do it.if you want thick highlights then use some tin foil for this.
my mom does it to my hair its very simple theyre all good brands the color matters on how long you leave the solution in dont leave it in very long if you want light brown maybe like 6 minutes
Its easier to get a friend to help with highlighting, Super drug do kits as do Boots,
loreal works good. I would suggest having somebody help u or getting it done by a professional. Two of my friends messed up their hair doing it. So be careful
