I tried highlighting my hair at home and it's tiger striped! How do I fix it???

My hair is naturally medium brown, and I bought a bleaching kit that is for highlighting and chunking your hair. I pulled it through a cap with holes and I guess the bleach got under the cap. It is REAL BAD, especially right in front and on top......how do I fix this asap!!!!I tried highlighting my hair at home and it's tiger striped! How do I fix it???
that sounds bad . . . my suggestion would be: see a hair professional asap. try to have red-brown died over the blonde. the red part is important, because if you dye regular brown over it, your hair might turn out green-brown. good luck!I tried highlighting my hair at home and it's tiger striped! If you look at walmart or any store like that, they have this bottle of stuff that is supposed to take out anything in your hair like color. you you try that it should help. And dont ever use the caps, they are horrible. you can also get a box of hair color as close to brown as you can get it, and break up all the highlights. Next time. Put your hair up and starting at the bottom color it in layers. leaving the top last. ive done a lot of my friends at home, and i never had a problem this way. If nothing works, then you can either A . die your hair back to your original, or just go to the salon.
I think a trip to the hairdresser is in order! That or I hope you have a nice selection of hats!
You'll need to totally die or totally bleach. Then let a friend help you. You haven't gotten the hang of it yet.
Instead of dying it again.. I would go to a professional hair stylist.. And get a color correction!
that has happened to me before. I put on a hat and went to the store. I purchased an all over color that is one shade darker than what my hair currently was at the time. I also made sure it said ASH on it. That helps tone down any brassy colors. At any rate, I put on the all over color and left it on my hair for the time it said on the instructions. Once it was done it looked like I just had subtle blonde highlights through my hair. Next time you are going to highlight though, use the comb method of the highlighting. I find it works better than the cap as you can see where you are putting it. Good Luck!!!!
i would go see a stylist who will have to do a color correction...they may have to find a color closest to your natural and do a retouch or use a toner to calm down those tiger stripes....best thing to do tho is to spend a little money to fix your hair...i'm a stylist and i still don't do my own hair...i get my stylist to do it...less heartache...
Hightlight with cap its not easy if you do it by your self.to cover it,buy hair dye medium brown, which is 5.3.Apply to all your hair.45 minutes processing, wash your hair.done.any brand is fine..usually i use redken and paul mitchel.
omg....i wanted to highlight my hair at home to save money but my mom wouldnt let me....thank goodness!!!
You can also go to a Sally's Beauty supply store and get a mascara like product that you can actually put on the particularly light pieces of hair. I actually paid money to have a stylist highlight my hair and I needed to get this. Don't stress too hard, we've all done this. I did end up having to return to my stylist to fix the problem. I do give you credit for trying it though. Good luck!
YOU do not fix this. This is a difficult situation due to the multitude of things happening on one single strand of hair. Find a color correction specialist. The investment is well worth it. Each different color and spot must be adjusted for. Just ';dumping'; some darker color over the whole things is not the answer. The color will not cover evenly due to the hair not being even.
