Can I dye my highlighted hair lighter at home?

Here we go..

My natural hair color is dark brown, but last February my hairstylist gave it caramel and blond highlights. I'm getting really sick of it and it doesn't look good anymore. Could I dye my hair this color?

Hayley Williams's awesome. haha.

How often would I have to redye my hair? Would this damage it? Would I have to go to a stylist?

Thank you!Can I dye my highlighted hair lighter at home?
I think that would look very cute.

Most people say everyone can pull off red and I think it would look very original and eyecatching to have that color, I dont see it very often :)

I would go to a stylist to get it done, just so the job gets done right.

Depends on how quickly your hair grows you will probably have to do a re-dye every month-month and a half.

I suggest you just do a root touchup instead of a full redye so your hair doesnt get to damaged.

:) Good luck! Can I dye my highlighted hair lighter at home?
If you have only had it highlighted, your hair may be fine with an ';over the counter'; hair dye. On the box it tells you how often to redye it(and you will be able to tell when your roots start coming through--its different for everyone). It will damage it, but pretty much anything will. Be sure if you do buy an ';over the counter'; hair dye, to buy a good one like garnier or herbal essences, not a cheap one. It will be a bit better for your hair. Also, when you dye your hair, your highlights will probably still be there(like you will be able to tell where they were, they won't be as pronounced though).

Hope this helps!:D
