3 days ago I had highlights to my light brown hair. I had my usual 2 colors a lightish brown and a darkish blond. My hair looks very stripey. Normally it looks a little stripey, but seems to blend ok and look more natural within a few days, but this time its very blocky and stripey.....is there anyway to tone down the contrast with a home semi permanent color? ......and yes, I know I should go back to my stylist yada yada....Help...I dont want green hair.....I dont care if my hair just ends up a light mid brown and I lose my highlights....thanks!Can you darken highlighted hair at home?
try a color glaze in in an espresso it will tone down the highlights and as a plus will make your hair really shine! Can you darken highlighted hair at home?
Highlights look better a week or two after they're done, they need time to blend with washing %26amp; styling. You can try a soapcap mix clarifying shampoo with 20 volume developer leave on hair 30 minutes. Don't do it more than twice. If that doesn't work then you'll have to bleach. Once you have dyed your hair you can only go darker DYE WILL NOT LIFT DYE.
from a hair dresser's point of view, u should mos def go to your hair dresser. although, you could go to a beauty supply and get a level 8 or 9 gold and neutral and mix it with equal parts...with 5 volume or 10 volume... do you have a sally's in your town?
also try mixing a clear gloss and clear solution with a level 9 gold and 5 or 10 volume...
hope that helps!
